Systems Engineering

The Master program “Systems Engineering” is designed as an interdisciplinary continuing education study program. This program includes contents from the fields of engineering, natural science and information technology to foster the development and realization of complex technical systems.

The tasks of a system engineer include the development of new products with due regard to the whole life cycle of the product including recycling, management of production processes, quality control as well as project planning, implementation and integration of complex systems with multi-disciplinary background. For the development process, relevant tasks need to be performed like system analysis, system design, system development and system test.

In addition to competences from the involved field of engineering, the ability of project handling considering management of requirements, quality and the whole project itself is necessary.

The study program is based on the curriculum of the German society for systems engineering e.V. (GfSE), the German branch of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE). Thus, the practice-relevance is secured.

This program is accredited by ASIIN.

Areas of competence

The areas of competence of the continuing education Master program are structured in Basics, Systems Engineering and Application; and Various Fields of Systems Engineering.

The courses Various Fields of Systems Engineering and Systems Engineering and Application will each be individualized by one elective.

Job description and labor market

The Master program is designed to meet the needs for continuing education of students with professional experience and a qualified university degree. When graduating from the Master “Systems Engineering” students will have sound up-to-date knowledge of electrotechnology, engineering and information technology as well as the conception and realization of complex systems.

The continuing education Master is closely connected to practice and industry. Thus, its contents are optimally laid-out to be implemented in your company. The duration of the study amounts to two years. During these two years, there will be phases on campus as well as extra-occupational phases of remote-learning.
